SoundTrack_Cologne is Europe’s leading congress for music and sound in film, games and media, and a source of inspiration for the growing landscape of festivals and congresses in Europe. In over 50 round tables, panels, workshops and networking events, SoundTrack_Cologne focuses on current developments in culture, law, marketing and technics of media music and offers business cases and networking events. It took place for the 20th time in June 2023.
SoundTrack_Cologne is a film event – from the music perspective. The event addresses business professionals, music students and everyone interested in film and music.
When it comes to film narratives, SoundTrack_Cologne aims to give its audience a diverse and versatile experience of music and sound. Legal, economic and artistic work conditions of film composers in a global market stand at the forefront, whereas a dialogue is established between the various film trades in workshops, panels, case studies and networking activities by experienced and established film composers to pass on their knowledge to the next generation.
With competitions such as the European Talent Competition and Peer Raben Music Award, SoundTrack_Cologne aims to appeal to the younger generation of composers and sound designers. With EEAMS, the European Education Alliance for Music and Sound in Media, SoundTrack_Cologne also hosts events for European universities and educational institutions.
Film festival SEE THE SOUND
SEE THE SOUND, the film festival of SoundTrack_Cologne, aims to show a broad array of extraordinary music films connecting image and sound by bringing them to the big screen. In 2023, 29 films and a selection of 6 shorts were screened at See The Sound.
As part of a selection of SEE THE SOUND, the prize for the best Music Documentary is awarded.
