Portrait #8: SoundTrack_Cologne

Following up on our series of portraits with SoundTrack_Cologne , a german festival created in 2004. SoundTrack_Cologne is Europe’s leading congress for music and sound in film, games and media, and a source of inspiration for the growing landscaper of festivals and congresses in Europe. See The Sound , the film festival of SoundTrack_Cologne aims to show a broad array of extraordinary music films connecting image and sound by bringing them to the big screen.

Portrait #7: FAME

Heading to the French capital city for this week’s portrait and learning a bit more about another member : the FAME: International Music Film Festival. At the heart of Paris, FAME presents a selection of films (documentaries, fictions and animated feature films) that celebrate singular figures, electronic adventures and underground cultures with an original program.

Portrait #6: Musical Écran

Heading to the south of France for this week’s portrait to get you acquainted with Musical Écran, a festival created in 2015 focusing on music documentaries and organised each year in the beautiful Cinéma UTOPIA. With a programme made of premieres and exclusive screenings, an international competition and dj-set parties in a beautiful open air venue, Musical Écran is an 8 day-long event with 30 musical stories to experience on the big screens.

Portrait #5: Doc’N Roll

Introducing another one of the founding members of the network : Doc’n Roll Film Festival, UK’s Music Doc Fest. Created in 2013, the festival celebrates music subcultures by providing a unique platform to support the wealth of creative, compelling, and unforgettable documentaries that celebrate the performers, labels, scenes, and stories.

Portrait #4: Soundwatch Berlin Music Film Festival

Today, we’re travelling to the capital of Germany and taking an interest in Soundwatch Berlin Music Film Festival. Created in 2017, Soundwatch presents around 15 music documentaries each year and explores various approaches to combining image and music, including music video, media art and narrative features.

For this week’s portrait, we’re taking you to the lovely city of Hamburg and focusing on UNERHÖRT! Music Film Festival. Created in 2007, Unerhört brings music films to the cinema and reflects on the current state of the music and film worlds.
